💗 TRASH = Totally Retro And Super Hot 💗

Welcome to Trash Vintage, an independent UK vintage clothing shop specialising in authentic vintage fashion from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and Y2K era.

I'm Dolly – vintage lover, treasure hunter, storyteller and the woman behind Trash Vintage.

My love affair with old things started long before Trash Vintage existed. As a child, I would spend hours rummaging through my Nan's jewellery boxes, fascinated by the stories hidden inside old brooches, beads and trinkets. I've always loved unusual things, beautiful things and objects with a history.

As I grew up, I started collecting weird and wonderful treasures and developed a particular soft spot for the 1960s. The colours, the prints, the optimism and the fashion completely captured my imagination. Although if I'm honest, I've never been very good at sticking to just one decade!

I've now been buying, collecting and selling vintage for well over 20 years and I'm still just as excited by a fabulous find as I was when I first started.

For me, buying vintage isn't just about fashion. It's about owning something special. Something unique. Something with a story all of its own.

Vintage clothing is often beautifully made too. The quality of many older garments is incredible – the kind that people often describe as "they don't make them like that anymore" (unless you're prepared to spend a small fortune!).

But what I love most is the history. Every vintage dress, jacket, jumper or handbag has already lived a life before finding its way to you. Rather romantic really. 😊

How Trash Vintage Began

Like many small businesses, Trash Vintage started with a passion that slowly got out of hand.

I began selling second-hand clothing and vintage treasures online through eBay before eventually opening an Etsy shop. Looking back, I imagined sales would come flooding in immediately.

They didn't.

In fact, during my first few months I didn't sell a single thing. Not one item. Zip. Nothing.

Then one day I received my first Etsy follower.

Excited to see who had discovered my little shop, I clicked on their profile. What I found was slightly alarming.

Their interests appeared to include printable Scream masks, realistic psycho knives, horror guides and mystery boxes. At this point I became convinced my very first Etsy follower was either a serial killer or somebody planning something extremely questionable.

After a brief period of panic and some frantic detective work, I eventually discovered they were actually a prop maker.

Crisis averted.

Despite attracting potential horror-movie enthusiasts, I still wasn't making any sales. But I stuck with it. I spent countless hours learning about photography, online selling, social media and vintage fashion. Slowly but surely, the sales started to come in and what began as a hobby eventually became a full-time business.

What You'll Find at Trash Vintage

Today, Trash Vintage is a carefully curated collection of vintage clothing and accessories from the 1960s through to Y2K.

I love bold prints, colourful statement pieces, dopamine dressing and clothing that makes people smile. Whether it's a psychedelic 60s mini dress, a glamorous 70s maxi, an oversized vintage knit, a colourful 90s jumper or a nostalgic Y2K treasure, every piece is handpicked because it's something I'd genuinely be excited to discover myself.

Many of the items I sell are one-of-a-kind. Once they're gone, they're gone.

That's one of the things I love most about vintage fashion. It allows you to express your personality, wear something unique and own a little piece of history at the same time.

Trash Vintage was created for people who love fashion with personality. Whether you're searching for authentic vintage clothing, colourful dopamine-dressing pieces, retro statement outfits, vintage dresses, vintage knitwear or nostalgic Y2K fashion, my aim is to bring together unique vintage treasures that help you express your individual style.

Every item is carefully selected, photographed and listed by me from my little corner of West Sussex, ready to find its next home.

Why Shop Vintage?

Vintage fashion isn't just about looking great – it's also a more sustainable way to shop. By giving pre-loved clothing a second life, you're helping reduce waste while building a wardrobe that's far more unique than anything you'll find on the high street.

I believe fashion should be fun, colourful and personal. Life's too short for boring clothes!
